Another fantastic venue to enjoy outdoor patio seating, live music on Saturdays, or a pre-event stop before heading to the Ball Arena nearby is Tivoli Brewing. Here, you can drink a taste of history at the oldest brewery in the state of Colorado. Founded in 1859 by German immigrant John Good, Tivoli predates Colorado’s statehood. After surviving prohibition, by shifting to producing low ABV “Cereal beers,” it became a major brewery until 1965 when flooding forced its closure. After reopening in 2012 with modernized equipment, Tivoli brings a new spark to the Colorado beer market. Tivoli is one of the fastest growing breweries in the country carrying its flagship beer, “Outlaw”, and a number of staples from the brewery. Be sure to check out the Tivoli Tap House in the historic Tivoli Center on the Auraria campus to try all they have to offer.

A great way to enjoy summertime in Denver is to attend the annual City Park Jazz concert series which runs Sunday evenings during June through August. “I’ve been going to the popular, free concert series featuring local musicians performing jazz, blues, and salsa tunes since it began in 1986,” says Courtney Drake-McDonough from the Denver-based lifestyle blog, In Good Taste Denver. “Additionally, you can spend a whole day with a visit to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Denver Zoo before the concert. These are all held in the beautiful, historic City Park. Take in the concert from a swan-shaped paddleboat around the lake beside the bandshell. Bring a picnic or grab dinner from one of the many local food trucks that gather for the event each week. It’s my favorite summertime tradition in Denver.”
